Brrrrrr . . . it's cold outside, and there's nothing better on a cold winters day than enjoying some homemade cookies straight from the oven with a mug of hot chocolate, here's our best cookie making recipe so you can warm yourself up . . .
What you'll need -
* 3oz Margarine + extra for greasing
* 3oz Light Brown Sugar
* 6oz Self Raising Flour
* 1 Egg
* 1teaspoon Vanilla Essence
* Your preferred flavouring - Chocolate chips, Dried cranberries, Fudge chunks, Mixed nuts, Ginger, Raisin
* 2 Baking trays
How to make the cookies -
1. Pre-heat the oven to 170 degrees
2. Mix the margarine and sugar together until pale and soft
3. Beat in the egg and vanilla essence
4. Fold the flour into the rest of the mixture so that a fairly stiff dough is formed
5.Add in your choice of flavouring
6.Lightly grease the baking trays and using a teaspoon place 4 blobs on each of the trays
7. Leave in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown
8. Leave to cool on a wire rack for a couple of minutes and then devour with a nice hot cup of hot chocolate or tea.
Here's some we made (we choose fudge chunks for ours) and they were delicious!
