One trend we
couldn’t help but notice during the Spring/Summer 2012 Menswear shows was Prints. Designers from Versace and Givenchy all embraced this trend, as well as high
street brands Topman and River Island. Prints come in many different forms, with a focus on Hawaiian and African designs.
Versace have captured this
trend in their own “Versace way”, distinctive, yet inspiring enabling Versace to stand out from
other designers.
This amazing structured shirt (above) embodies luxury, signature
Donatella; she has been able to bring and embody iconic Versace giving a sense of effortless luxury.
Givenchy also showcased prints in their SS12 collection, based entirely on print. Givenchy are known for their striking T-shirts designs, with the likes of Kanye
West, Drake, Tyga and up and comer Rita Ora as firm fans. Givenchy have managed to take this trend to another level, their designs were nothing short of amazing!
The t-shirt above has been an instant
hit, a
statement piece, and should therefore be worn with something casual, a pair of simple skinny jeans or casual denims, the graphic art work is so striking nothing else is needed!
For those of us
who do not have, or possess the designer bank balance, there are still must have pieces out there. Topman have a vast print collection, which are sure to be a big hit during this summer’s music festivals and Olympic events, and there's always the added bonus of student discount!
The key
to wearing prints is to have one print item (i.e. a t-shirt or shirt) and keep everything else simple, avoid wearing two blocks of prints, apart from that let you imagination run riot!
