Alexander McQueen . . .

Faded autumn leaves littered the catwalk transporting the audience 7 months into the future at McQ Alexander McQueen. There was the trademark dark glamour and clever tailoring in all of the garments that has become a trademark of a McQueen show, and Sarah Burton didn't disappoint with her first outing as head designer.

Moss greens, deep reds and the trademark McQueen black dominated the collection, as did a host of felted wool trench coats and cinched in waistlines. For the men it was a military love affair with double breasted trench coats, leather gloves and brogues with trademark slicked side parting. However there was a distinct lack of eveningwear within the collection with only a handful of dresses towards the end of the show, saving the best to last with nipped waist evening dress adorned with mulit-coloured appliquéd flowers on a sea of black tulle, with long leather gloves completing the look.
